Gone but not forgotten

My fist solo show at Tinsel Galley called “Gone but not Forgotten”

In this show I made a collection of pieces all reworked from vintage and antique settings. Often asked by clients to melt down old bits of jewellery to re-use the metal, I found myself unable to destroy the workmanship of another jeweller and the nostalgia instilled in the piece: instead I supplied new metal to the clients and kept the “previously-loved” jewellery. Over several years I collected many pieces that had once been cherished but were now being discarded by their owners, and has now re-worked them into contemporary jewels with my signature brand of playfulness and humour. In doing so I have hopefully managed to reignite the sentimentality of the original pieces and made them desirable and ready to be loved again by new owners, without losing what it was.
